Reports have been received that German flag vessel CONTI SINGA (42336gt built 1996) has run aground whilst entering Izmir today.
The container vessel trades between ports in Greece and Turkey and ports in Northern Europe. She is likely to carry transhipment cargoes for other ports.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board the vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
