Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel TAXIARCHIS (45140gt built 1987) has been towed into Galle by a Tsavliris salvage tug.
The tanker was last reported in Colombo from where she sailed on 23rd Febuary. Salvage assistance was required when she was 120 miles off Dondra Head.
It is likely that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
