Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel HS PIONEER (76042gt built 1982) is disabled and under tow towards Longyan.
The bulk carrier, which sailed from Mormugao on 23rd December, is understood to be on a voyuage towards Yantai. Salvage tug ROTTERDAM is towing her towards port.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
