Reports have been received that Thai flag vessel BANGBUA (4395gt built 1975) has grounded and partially sank on the Chao Phraya River, Bangkok.
The general cargo vessel reportedly struck a sunken vessel and began to take on water. She has on board a cargo of timber which will be salvaged if possible.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
