The vessel got stuck near the Storegrunn lighthouse in the Drobak Sound, north of Askholmene at Drobak in Akershus. No injuries or pollution were reported. The lifeboat Bergesen D. Y. went on standby, and tug John was deployed from Slagen. A first attempt to pull the ship off failed. Tug Gyltingen has also been deployed to the grounding site. The bulker, which sailed form Fukuyama on 23rd October 2017 destined for Brazil, reported taking on water on 24th November. Tug APL IPPON is assisting the vessel. This incident may give rise to salvage and general average claims against the owners/insurers of the cargo. The incident happened on 20th November when the bulker was apparently pushed aground under the action of the waves. The vessel remains aground at this time, with the crew is still on board. Reportedly, the crew was not permitted to disembark from the vessel. The pier was heavily damaged and partially destroyed, and bulk carrier sustained hull breaches and water ingress. The barge was also damaged. Tugs provided assistance to bring the vessel to Niedersachsen Quay in Brake, where the fire brigade assisted to pump out the water. According to initial investigation by the police and statements from the pilot, the vessel experienced rudder trouble before the incident. The vessel grounded on the eastern tip of Magazine Island, South Horizon, Hong Kong. At the time of the incident the vessel was moving at around 7.5 knots. TOUSKA trades between ports in Iran, UAE and the Far East. It is reported that 42 containers were lost over-board from EVER SMART approximately 700 nautical miles East of Japan, on 30th October 2017. The incident occurred when the vessel was underway from Taipei, Taiwan to the Port of Los Angeles on the U.S. West coast. The Evergreen voyage number is 0898-086E. The vessel is due to arrive in port next week. On the day of the incident, meteorologists were tracking a powerful hurricane force low-pressure system over the north-western Pacific. The general cargo vessel suffered a loss of power around 14th October and towage assistance was required. She had sailed from Bilbao on 29th September 2017 and is destined for Central and South American ports. Repairs to the vessel are expected to be completed in the next two or three days. General Average has been declared. The container vessel suffered structural damage as a result as well as damage to cargo on board. One container, containing frozen fish, went overboard.
