No injuries or oil pollution were reported by the CRYSTAL SUNRISE, but part of the vessel’s butane cargo was released and dispersed as a result of this incident. The vessel is in a stable condition and is now safely anchored outside Singapore while the situation continues to be closely monitored Tue,17 Apr 2018 17:14:50 +0200 EVER JUDGER Date: 31 March 2018    Type: Fire  Voyage: From Indonesia  Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel EVER JUDGER (44,060gt, built 2014) caught fire in the Bay of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, following a diesel oil spill earlier today. Dark black smoke soared tens of metres in the sky over Balikpapan City. Two people are reported to have lost their lives. Other casualties are expected. The vessel is understood to be carrying a cargo of coal. Tue, 3 Apr 2018 13:03:32 +0200 PEPPINO BOTTIGLIERI Date: 23 March 2018    Type: Grounding  Voyage: Argentina to Vietnam  Reports have been received that Italian flag vessel PEPPINO BOTTIGLIERI (51,255gt built 2009) has run aground off Argentina Professional salvors Tsavliris Salvage have been contracted on a Lloyd’s Open Form salvage contract to try to refloat the vessel. The bulker is carrying a cargo of 73,305mt of soy beans and corn. The cargo was loaded in Argentina and is destined for discharge in Vietnam. Before the cargo can be delivered, cargo insurers will be expected to provide salvage security. It is also likely that general average will be declared. Wed,28 Mar 2018 16:06:14 +0200 DELPHIS GDANSK collision with BBC NEPTUNE Date: 27th March 2018    Type: Collision and Fire  Voyage: Netherlands to Russia and Russia to Sweden  Reports have been received that Hong Kong flag vessel DELPHIS GDANSK (25,715gt built 2017) and Liberian flag vessel BBC NEPTUNE (24,109gt built 2010) were in collision earlier today in the Great Belt off Denmark. As a result of the incident, some containers on board DELPHIS GDANSK fell on to the deck of BBC NEPTUNE. A fire has also been reported. At present both vessels remain in the same position surrounded by tugs and other craft. DELPHIS GDANSK is on a voyage from Netherlands to Russia but is likely to be carrying cargoes from various origins and for various destinations. The bulker BBC NEPTUNE is on a voyage from Russia to Sweden. Fire fighting vessels were sent to the scene. It is understood that the LMZ PLUTO is now at anchor with sever tugs in attendance. LMZ PLUTO is destined for Turkey. Mon,26 Mar 2018 11:39:12 +0200 FLOURISHEVER Date: 27 February 2018    Type: Grounding  Voyage: Bahrain to China  Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel FLOURISHEVER (39,027, built 1995) ran aground off Guangdong Province on 27 February 2018 We understand that salvage services were rendered to the vessel by Guangzhou Salvage on the terms of a Lloyd’s Open Form salvage contract. Thu,15 Mar 2018 17:28:16 +0100 MAERSK HONAM Date: 6 March 2018    Type: Explosion and Fire  Voyage: 806W Far East/Middle East/Europe  MAERSK HONAM remains under tow towards Dubai. The vessel is expected to arrive off the port of Jebel Ali in around five days. When the vessel arrives, it may take some further days for the vessel to be allowed to berth. This is because there may still be “hot spots” in the cargo. And the condition of the vessel after the fire will need to made safe, with contaminated water to be removed. All cargo will be discharged at Jebel Li. Container “door surveys” will be undertaken. Then the majority of cargo will be transhipped. We expect that it will still be some weeks before the cargoes begin to arrive at destinations. At present, Salvors have not yet quantified their salvage security demand. This demand is expected in the next few days. Dolphin Maritime can arrange salvage guarantees for cargo insurers. Thu, 8 Mar 2018 11:07:32 +0100 PANAMAX ALEXANDER Date: 28 February 2018    Type: Engine Breakdown  Voyage: Canada to Belgium  Reports have been received that Cypriot flag vessel PANAMAX ALEXANDER (38,928gt, built 2001) suffered an engine breakdown yesterday whilst approximately 500 miles southwest of Ireland. Initially it was thought that the crew would undertake repairs. But the owners of the vessel have now arranged for tug assistance to bring the vessel to either Brest or Falmouth. The bulk carrier has on board a cargo of 70.250mt of iron ore. She sailed from Seven Islands, Canada on 15 February 2018 and is destined for Ghent, Belgium. Mon, 5 Mar 2018 12:43:56 +0100 DIONYSUS Date: 28 February 2018    Type: Fire  Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel DIONYSUS (36,303gt, built 2015) suffered a fire on board whilst docked at near Bristol, UK, yesterday. More than 50 fire-fighters from across the city have been involved. The fire broke out in the cargo hold of the vessel which is believed to be carrying or loading a cargo of animal feed. The vessel’s last port of call was Lisbon. Mon, 5 Mar 2018 12:41:59 +0100 MUMTAZ AMCA Date: 28th February 2018    Type: Explosion  Voyage: Russia to Turkey  Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel MUMTAZ AMCA (4,921gt, built 1983) suffered an explosion on board yesterday off Sinop. One crew member reportedly died in the incident and another was injured. Subsequently, the vessel sheltered and dropped anchor at Sinop anchorage under its own power. The fire was controlled and extinguished by the crew. An incident investigation file has been opened by the Public Prosecutor.
