The vessel is expected to arrive off the port of Jebel Ali in around five days. When the vessel arrives, it may take some further days for the vessel to be allowed to berth. This is because there may still be “hot spots” in the cargo. And the condition of the vessel after the fire will need to made safe, with contaminated water to be removed. All cargo will be discharged at Jebel Li. Container “door surveys” will be undertaken. Then the majority of cargo will be transhipped. We expect that it will still be some weeks before the cargoes begin to arrive at destinations. At present, Salvors have not yet quantified their salvage security demand. This demand is expected in the next few days. Dolphin Maritime can arrange salvage guarantees for cargo insurers. Dolphin Maritime has a fire expert instructed to investigate the cause of the fire Dolphin Maritime has cargo surveyors instructed in Dubai ready to survey cargoes.
