Reports have been received that the Brazilian flag vessel ESPIRITO SANTO, 21733 GRT, 1987 built, has suffered a stern tube seal failure, and water has entered into the engine room. As a result of the consequential immobilisation, the vessel required towage to Nago port, as a place of refuge.
There are potential claims for salvage and General Average arising from this incident, as well as PA losses.
