Reports have been received that the German flag vessel MAERSK DIADEMA, 52701 GRT, 2006 built has run aground on the approach to Lazaro Cardenas in Mexico.  Negotiations are underway with salvors including Titan and others to refloat the vessel.

Our representative office in Mexico, the law office of M&L Estudio Legal, will proceed to investigate the events leading up to the grounding, at which time no pilot was on board.

The vessel was on a voyage from Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai and Yokohama to Lazaro Cardenas but has cargo from many Far Eastern ports bound for Latin and North American ports.  The voyage number is 0710.

There are potential claims for salvage and General Average arising from this incident, as well as PA losses.

If salvage security is required, our personal corporate salvage guarantees are accepted by Lloyds.  We can provide salvage security on your behalf (subject to internal procedures) for a bail fee from 0.8% of the guarantee amount.
