White Sea - Grounding

Reports have been received that the Liberian flag vessel WHITE SEA, 57082 GRT, 1991 built has grounded in Lower New York Bay. No oil has been spilt but work will be required to move the vessel safely, as it appears the vessel is hard aground. There are Coast Guard and privately contracted vessels on the scene.

We have interesting information about the cause of the grounding.

There are potential claims for salvage and General Average arising from this incident, as well as PA losses.

If salvage security is required, our personal corporate salvage guarantees are accepted by Lloyds. We can provide salvage security on your behalf (subject to internal procedures) for a bail fee from 0.8% of the guarantee amount.
