Reports have been received that the Panamanian flag vessel WEELEK NO.3, 10316 GRT, 1983 built has suffered an engine breakdown. A tug will reportedly be with the vessel is two days, but the weather is reported to be very bad and there are fears the vessel could be lost. She is currently in lat 21 25N, long 62 59E and has transmitted a distress signal.

If the vessel survived and is salvaged, there are potential claims for salvage and General Average arising from this incident, as well as PA losses.

If salvage security is required, our personal corporate salvage guarantees are accepted by Lloyds. We can provide salvage security on your behalf (subject to internal procedures) for a bail fee from 0.8% of the guarantee amount.
