Reports have been received that the South Korean flag vessel GOLDEN ROSE, 3849 GRT, 1982 built has collided with the JIN SENG and sank with the expected total loss of the crew and all the 5900 MT steel cargo.

The collision reportedly occurred about 40 miles south-east of Dalian in dense fog. As far as we are aware, none of the crew of the GOLDEN ROSE have been rescued in spite of extensive searches. There is speculation that the JIN SENG did not report the collision promptly.
