Reports have been received that the Jane encountered difficulties in heavy weather off Vanino. We understand that significant quantities of water penetrated the engine room causing the Master to decide to ground the vessel. The engine-room became flooded further causing her to lose all power. The engine room is now stated to be completely flooded and the vessel remains aground in worsening weather.
There are potential claims for salvage and General Average arising from this incident, as well as PA losses. If salvage security is required, our personal corporate salvage guarantees are accepted by Lloyds. We can provide salvage security on your behalf (subject to internal procedures) for a bail fee of 0.8% of the guarantee amount. Kindly note that if we are to place our personal guarantees, it is conditional on Dolphin being instructed to handle all negotiations arising from the matter on your behalf.
