********** Casualty Report Update **********

We refer to our initial Casualty Report below. We now understand that the Shipowners have appointed Average Adjusters. We believe therefore that it is possible that General Average will be declared shortly.

If General Average is declared then cargo owners and insurers will be required to provide average bonds and guarantees respectively.

If you have insured cargo on board this vessel and require any assistance then please do not hesitate to contact us. To assist you, we would require copies of the insurance certificate/policy, the bill of lading and the commercial invoice.

If you have not insured cargo on board this vessel then please disregard this message.

********** Initial Casualty Report **********

Reports have been received that Maltese flag vessel CMA CGM LIBRA (131,332gt built 2010) has run aground outside the port of Xiamen.

The vessel is hard aground and is understood to have taken on a list of 10 degrees. The vessel’s owners are in the process of formulating a salvage plan.

CMA CGM LIBRA operates on the FAL1 services between China and Western Europe although she is likely to be carrying transhipment cargo to and from various other destinations.

It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
