Reports have been received that the THOR ACE, Hong Kong flag, 9684 GRT had a hole in the bow section of the hull and water entered hold no 1. The cargo is Muriate of Potash and Phosphate Rock.

The bow started to sink, and temporary repairs were undertaken at Kaohsiung, but then the bow grounded. Attempts are being made to remove the oil on board before attempting refloating.

There will be cargo damage, and also it is likely that salvage and GA claims will arise.
