Date: 22 September 2018 Type: Grounding Voyage: from Fuzhou to Dalian
Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel APL LOS ANGELES (43,071gt built 2008) ran aground off the coast of China on 22 September 2018.
At the time the vessel was on a voyage from Fuzhou to Dalian, having previously called at other Chinese ports. She was destined for Philippines.
The containership was damaged as a result of the incident and, following re-floating, returned to Fuzhou where all cargo was discharged.
The vessel’s owners have declared General Average. Albatross Adjusters Ltd in Cyprus have been appointed to collect average guarantees from the insurers of the cargo on board before cargo can be delivered.
