Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel YANGTZE HARMONY (32,987gt, built 2012) suffered sea water ingress into her engine room whilst she was sailing around 200 miles off Vung Tau on 20th August 2017.
The vessel, which had sailed from Shanghai on 15th August 2017, became disabled as a result of the water ingress.
Her crew were rescued following intervention of the Vietnamese authorities and another vessel in the area, ALS APOLLO.
There is no further news concerning YANGTZE RIVER at this time although, if she can be saved, it is assumed that she will be towed to a port of refuge.
