Date: 19th October 2015    Type: Grounding 

Reports have been received that Nigerian flag vessel GOOD SUCCESS (2,556gt, built 2000) was in collision with Marshall Islands flag vessel ELIXIR (28,245gt, built 2004) off Nigeria on 19th October.

As a result of the collision, GOOD SUCCESS sank. Three of her twelve crew members were rescued and one is reported as having lost his life. The search for the remaining eight crew members is reported to be continuing.

The accident took place ten miles north west of the Bonga FPSO. ELIXIR has been detained pending further investigation by the local authorities
