Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel CHANG LONG (8,979gt, built 2010) suffered a mechanical failure on 9th July whilst off Jeju Island.
The vessel, which was on a voyage from Zhoushan to Incheon, was provided with salvage assistance. She is not at the port of Lianyungang.
As a result of this incident it is possible that general average and/or salvage claims could be made against cargo insurers.
