Reports have been received that Indonesian flag vessel KM JOURNEY (2,772gt, built 1995) sank earlier today after colliding with Indonesian flag passenger vessel LAMBELU (14,649gt, built 1997).
The accident took place as KM JOURNEY was leaving Tanjung Perak and collided with the passenger vessel which was preparing to anchor. The cargo vessel’s crew of 17 has been rescued.
KM JOURNEY was a container vessel which traded between ports in Indonesia.
