Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel MSC LUCIANA (131,711gt built 2009) has run aground today after passing Flushing Roads. The accident reportedly occurred after the vessel suffered an engine problem.
It remains to be seen how serious this incident will be. But it is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared
