Reports have been received that UK flag vessel K-WAVE (7170gt built 2007) has run aground this morning off the southern coast of Spain.
The container vessel generally operates between ports in Spain and Portugal, but she is likely to have transhipment cargo on board for various ports around the world.
We understand that salvage teams have been quickly mobilised and various rescue vessels are en route to the scene of the incident.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
