Reports have been received that Lithuanian flag vessel LISCO GLORIA (20600gt built 2002) suffered an explosion on board over the weekend.
We understand that several passengers were injured as a result and three taken to hospital by helicopter. Cargo was also damaged.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation. The ferry was on her usual route between Kiel and Klaipeda when the accident took place during the hours of darkness.
