Reports have been received that Antigua flag vessel CHRISTIAN D (3811gt built 2001) has run aground today on a voyage from Romania to Nigeria.
The general cargo vessel is understood to be aground on rocks off Greece. No pollution has been reported as yet.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board the vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
